Sam was a caring and dedicated son, a protective and loving brother, and an outgoing friend. He received his Associate's degree in Automotive Systems Technology and was a hardworking and dedicated professional in his field. Sam loved being outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was non-judgmental of others and that, combined with an easy going, laid back style, is why he was loved by so many people. Relationships were very important to him and he had a wealth of riches in family and friends who will miss him and cherish his memory.

His family is grateful that God blessed their lives with Sam. He is survived by his parents, Teresa W. Gordon of Asheboro and Ernest Lynn Gordon and wife Sarah of Ingleside, IL; siblings, Joshua Gordon (Laura) and Brittney Gordon Parker (Dylan) both of Greensboro; step-sister, Amber Rappe of Illinois; paternal grandparents, Jean Gordon and Jay Bush; four nieces; four nephews; as well as several aunts, uncles and extended family. Sam is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Sam's memory be directed to Mental Health Assc., 301 E. Washington Street, Suite 111, Greensboro, N.C. 27401. Online condolences may be made at www.hanes-lineberryfuneralservice.com. Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm chapel is assisting Sam's family.
