Norman Lewis Schlosser died peacefully at the Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell Sunday, March 29, at the age of 82.

Norman is survived by his six children, Norma Catherine Kingsley (Mark), Susan Newman (Berry), Stephen Schlosser, Elaine Schlosser, Claire Novoa (Vincent), and Rita Van Duinen (Edwin); stepson, Anthony Stewart; nephew, David Schlosser (Ellen); niece, Anne Pearman (Dennis); 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and other loving extended family. He is preceded in death by his 2nd wife, Helen Louise Schlosser; parents, Ignatius Valentine and Susie Lewis Schlosser of Greensboro; brother, Ignatius Valentine Schlosser Jr.; and niece, Joan Schlosser, also of Greensboro

Norman was born on July 21, 1932. He graduated from Greensboro High School in 1951 where he was class president and held a B.S. in Chemistry from Guilford College. Norman worked as Quality Control Manager at Pfizer of Greensboro for 35 years. He was one of several surviving grandchildren of Andrew Leopold Schlosser, a master stonemason who built many homes in and around the Greensboro area.

Norman loved to garden and to take care of the many wild birds he dutifully fed each day at his home. He enjoyed music and singing, and was at one time, a member of a local barbershop quartet.

All are welcome to celebrate Norman's life during visitation hours on Friday, April 3, from 6-9 PM at Hanes-Lineberry located at 515 N. Elm St. in Greensboro. A graveside service is scheduled for 2 PM on Saturday, April 4 at Lakeview Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the funeral home's N. Elm St. location.
