Mr. Carey W. Player, Sr., of Greensboro, died Sunday, March 29, 2015.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at Stokesdale Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Carey was a kind, gentle man who never met a stranger. He retired from Big Star Food and later retired from Guilford County School Bus Transportation Department. Carey loved bus driving and continued to drive for field trips following retirement. Carey enjoyed watching NASCAR, a fan of Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He was a member of the Triad Chevy...

Carey was a kind, gentle man who never met a stranger. He retired from Big Star Food and later retired from Guilford County School Bus Transportation Department. Carey loved bus driving and continued to drive for field trips following retirement. Carey enjoyed watching NASCAR, a fan of Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He was a member of the Triad Chevy Club and the New Garden Moose Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Wilson Player (his darling); children, Carey W. Player, Jr., (his namesake) (Linda) and Patty Summers (his baby girl) (Calvin); brother, Billy Bradford Player; grandchildren, Dylan, Brandon, Denver, Noah, Jonathan, Bryson and Deacon.
Friends will be received Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel.
